AI Hug Generator: Two Separate Photos, One Real-Looking Hug

Add one photo of each person, pick a scene, and the AI makes a 5 or 10 second video of the two of you stepping in for a hug, with both faces kept from their own photos. The photos do not have to be taken together, in the same place or even in the same decade.

A Hug from Two Photos That Were Never Taken Together

This is what an AI hug generator actually does. Each person comes from a different photo, with a different background and light. The video starts with them apart, then brings them into one scene and closes the gap with a hug, keeping each face, hairstyle and outfit from its own photo.

Two separate portraits, two backgrounds, one hug. Example clip from an AI hug video generator.

AI Hug Video Examples

Every clip below was made from separate photos of fictional, AI-generated people. Use them to pick a scene and to see what kind of photo works.

Couple hug

Two plain portraits against a wall become a slow, close hug. The simplest version and the one most people start with.

Long-distance reunion

A front-porch arrival: arms open, a hug, a smile over the shoulder. Good for partners, friends or family who live in different countries.

Graduation day

Someone who could not be there in person gets into the photo after all. Works for any big day: graduations, weddings, birthdays.

Family and friends

Mothers and daughters, sisters, best friends. The model keeps two similar-looking people apart and does not blend their faces.

Golden memory

Warm, hazy light and a slow embrace. The scene people choose for someone they miss.

Hug your younger self

An adult kneels down and hugs a childhood photo of themselves, brought to life in colour. Made on this page with the Younger self scene.

A hug with your pet

Pets work too, as long as the animal is clear and facing the camera. The person crouches and the dog leans in.

Zombie hug for Halloween

Person 2 turns into a zombie, shuffles in as if to bite, and hugs instead. Made on this page with the Zombie hug scene.

How to Make an AI Hug Video

  1. 01

Add one photo of each person

Person 1 first, then the person they hug. A clear face, looking roughly at the camera, from the chest up is ideal. A group photo is fine if you crop it to one person first.

  2. 02

    Pick a scene

Just a hug, a reunion, a golden memory, your younger self or the Halloween zombie hug. The scene sets the place, the light and the music.

  3. 03

Choose a video or a picture

A 5 or 10 second vertical video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or a single picture for a frame, a card or a profile photo.

  4. 04

    Download and share

The result appears right here, stays in your History and has no watermark.

Five Hug Scenes

Each scene is a tested prompt, so you only add the photos. The same scenes make a picture or a video.

Just a hug

A plain, softly lit wall and nothing else: the two of you side by side, then a warm hug. The closest thing to the viral two-photo hug clips.

Reunion

An airport arrivals hall. Person 2 walks through the doors, drops the suitcase, and the two of you run into each other’s arms. Pick 10 seconds for this one.

Golden memory

A quiet field in hazy golden light, a slow walk toward each other and a long, gentle hug with gentle piano. Made for a hug with someone who is no longer here.

Younger self

Person 2 is a childhood photo of Person 1. The child recognises you, runs into your arms, and you hug them in the garden of a family home.

Zombie hug

Halloween night: Person 2 has turned into a zombie and lurches in with arms out, then hugs instead of biting. Funny, not gory.

Hug Your Younger Self

The "hug your younger self" trend asks one question: what would you say to the kid you used to be? The video answers it without words. Put a photo of you now as Person 1 and a childhood photo as Person 2, and choose the Younger self scene.

  • Scan or photograph the old print in daylight, flat and without glare. A phone photo of a photo works if it is sharp.
  • Crop the childhood photo to just you. Siblings and parents in the frame confuse which child to bring to life.
  • Black and white or faded is fine: the scene asks for the child in full colour.
  • Use a recent photo of yourself with a similar expression, ideally smiling. It reads as the same person more easily.
  • Pick 10 seconds if you want the child to run across the garden before the hug.

A Hug with Someone You Lost

Many people come to an AI hug generator for one hug they can no longer have: a parent, a grandparent, a partner, a friend. Use a photo of you and a photo of them, and the Golden memory scene, which is slow and quiet on purpose.

Pick the clearest photo you have of them, even an old one, and crop it to their face and shoulders. A photo where they look happy gives the gentlest result.

The video is an imagined moment, not a recording. Some people find it comforting and others find it hard to watch, so if you are making it for a family member, ask before you share it with them or post it.

The Zombie Hug

The zombie AI trend ends on a hug instead of a bite: one partner turns, the other cannot shoot, and they hold each other. The Zombie hug scene above is the short, funny version. For the full four-beat story, use the zombie AI trend template; to turn both of you into zombies, use the zombie couple maker.

Why Some AI Hugs Look Wrong, and How to Fix Them

The faces swap or blend

Happens when the two photos look alike or are low resolution. Use sharp, well-lit photos and keep the order right: Person 1 is the first photo you add. The swap button switches them.

Extra arms or melted hands

Usually from photos cut off at the face. Chest-up photos with shoulders visible give the model the body to animate. Try again; each render is different.

One person looks too tall or too small

The model guesses height from the photos. Two photos framed the same way, at about the same distance, give the most natural sizes.

Sunglasses, masks and hats

Anything covering the eyes makes the face harder to keep. Ordinary glasses are fine; dark sunglasses are not.

The wrong person turns into the zombie

In the Zombie hug scene, Person 2 is always the one who turns. Swap the photos if you want it the other way round.

AI Hug Video Prompts to Copy

These are the exact prompts behind each scene. Paste one into another video model that takes two reference images (Image 1 and Image 2), or adapt it into your own.

Just a hug

Image 1 is Person 1. Image 2 is Person 2. The two of them were photographed separately; now they are together in one shot. Setting: a softly lit, plain warm-beige studio wall, like a portrait session. They stand side by side looking at the camera, then turn to each other, smile, step in and share a long, warm hug, swaying slightly, Person 2 resting their chin on Person 1’s shoulder. Keep each person's face shape, features, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, build and clothes exactly as in their own reference image, and never swap the two. Vertical cinematic short, natural motion, smooth camera, soft warm acoustic music, no dialogue. No other people in focus, no text, no logos.

Reunion

Image 1 is Person 1. Image 2 is Person 2. They have been apart for a long time and are finally meeting again. Setting: the arrivals hall of an airport in soft daylight, travellers blurred in the background. Person 1 waits, searching the crowd. Person 2 comes through the doors pulling a suitcase, sees Person 1, lets go of the case, and they rush to each other and hold on tight, laughing and close to tears. Keep each person's face shape, features, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, build and clothes exactly as in their own reference image, and never swap the two. Vertical cinematic short, natural motion, smooth camera, an uplifting, emotional score, no dialogue. No other people in focus, no text, no logos.

Golden memory

Image 1 is Person 1. Image 2 is Person 2, someone Person 1 misses deeply. Setting: a quiet field at golden hour, warm hazy light, drifting dust and soft lens glow, like a treasured memory. Person 2 walks slowly out of the soft light toward Person 1. They look at each other, smile, and hold each other in a long, gentle hug, eyes closed, while the light glows around them. Keep each person's face shape, features, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, build and clothes exactly as in their own reference image, and never swap the two. Vertical cinematic short, natural motion, smooth camera, a slow, gentle piano score, no dialogue. No other people in focus, no text, no logos.

Younger self

Image 1 is the Adult. Image 2 is a childhood photo of the same person: the Adult as a young child. Show the child as a real child in full color, even if the photo is old, faded or black and white. Setting: the sunny back garden of a family home, a swing and a lawn behind them, warm afternoon light. The Adult crouches down to the child’s height. The child looks up, recognises them, smiles and runs into their arms; the Adult hugs the child gently and strokes their hair. Keep each person's face shape, features, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, build and clothes exactly as in their own reference image, and never swap the two. Vertical cinematic short, natural motion, smooth camera, a tender piano and strings score, no dialogue. No other people in focus, no text, no logos.

Zombie hug

Image 1 is the Survivor. Image 2 is the Zombie: the person in Image 2 has turned into a zombie for Halloween. Setting: a suburban street on Halloween night, glowing jack-o'-lanterns on the porch steps and a full moon. The Zombie shuffles toward the Survivor with arms out, groaning as if to bite. The Survivor flinches, then the Zombie wraps them in a clumsy, sweet hug instead, and both of them burst out laughing. Keep each person's face shape, features, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, build and clothes exactly as in their own reference image, and never swap the two. Zombie look on the Zombie only: pale grey-green skin, dark veins around the eyes, clouded pale eyes, a few stitches and smudges of dirt, a torn shirt. Still clearly the same person under the make-up. Spooky-fun rather than gore: no open wounds, no blood. Vertical cinematic short, natural motion, smooth camera, playful spooky Halloween music, no dialogue. No other people in focus, no text, no logos.

New accounts get 100 free credits, which covers a hug picture (60 credits). A hug video costs 200 credits for 5 seconds or 400 for 10 seconds.
